The Thorpe Arnold Village Hall Project
The hall was built as a school in 1861 and became a village hall in 1950.
£70,000 is needed just for basic rebuilding and repair work.
We want to replace the worn out tired old building.
It had a leaning wall, rotting timbers, a leaking roof and out of date facilities.
Our aim is
To maintain the provenance of the property
But to create a much needed larger, usable, up-to-date and disabled-friendly accommodation.
We have
Identified the following community uses for the hall :
Nursery school, Children's birthday parties, Lunch Club, Youth Club,
Dancing, Pensioner Activities ( ie IT training, Short Mat bowls, other indoor sport facilities )
Small wedding receptions etc.
The hall will be available to all faiths and none. We want the hall to have a future.
We have found that we can raise some funds without even changing our spending habits.
We can save and raise money using our own Electricity, Gas, Telephone, Broadband and Greetings Cards scheme.
Need a book? Why not use our Internet Shop by clicking on the link below or the Amazon link above?
Pay for it using the Thorpe Arnold Credit Card. Through our fundraising innovation we hope for a Village Hall renovation.
We appreciate any help you feel you can give now and in the future to this cause.
